| The 2009 Iowa State Fair had a lot of help from Mother Nature... cooler temps. We had 191 Entries this year. All categories were represented with the exception of lamps. I would like to thank the demonstrators who helped me this year. I am sure they enjoyed it. The Novice category had 10 entries. I'd like to thank the teacher who encouraged their students to enter - not only the Novice, but the other categories as well. I encourage all china painters in Iowa to enter at least 8 items next year. You may have 10 for the $5 fee. In this way, we can keep our space set aside for China Painting. I am looking for volunteers for next year. If you would like to sign up, see me after the meeting. If you have any questions about the fair, just ask. Thank you to the IWOCP for the Best of Show $ and for half of the judge fee. Phyliss Craig received Best of Show for her pears on a pitcher. Very nicely done.
